<div class="IPBDescription">new chip, half the price...</div> <a href='http://www.tech-critic.com/comments.php?id=8135&catid=1' target='_blank'>http://www.tech-critic.com/comments.php?id...id=8135&catid=1</a>... identical to the athlon 64 3200+, but with half the level 2 cache, and at half the price... figures they'd put something like this out less than a month after I shell out the $400 for the 3200+ =P

Lesson be: they call it the Bleeding Edge for a reason <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Next CPUs I am looking forward to are going to come out in 2005.
It will be using some very interesting transistor technology that will completely change processors forever

For most aplications the cache size will make more of a difference in your experience than the processor speed.

Lol, I'm still saving for the Athlon 64 XP <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->. I would be looking for Intel's new processor but I know its impossible to get one.

Sort of, however, as illustrated by the gist of this topic, I like to avoid the bleeding edge of technology.

And are we talking about the same thing? Silicon based Low K Dielectrics are already out there but not used as much. I am partially referring to FINFETS and 3 dimensional transitors.
