<div class="IPBDescription">I see you.</div>I've been wondering a bit about how NS will handle dead people spectating. Will they be able to roam at will, stick behind teammates, or be stuck in some kind of ethereal holding cell while they wait to respawn? And will this be a hard-coded thing, or will servers be able to change this option?

    When you are dead, you can follow your team only, in free chase cam and locked chase cam mode, to prvent you from seeing stuff you shouldn't <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->

    Cool. I was pretty sure it wouldn't be complete free roam. I think it could be interesting if you got locked away though, so when you respawned you'ld actually have the feeling of not knowing what was going on. But then, with the prevalence of motion tracking and hive-mind you'ld probably find out so quickly that it probably wouldn't be worth the boredom of not being able to see the action. <!--emo&???--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo-->

    Also, if there's no one on your team alive (not counting the commander, whom you cannot spectate at the current time), you can pop into free camera mode which will let you go anywhere in the map in typical no-clip fashion.  Of course, if there's no one on your team left alive, well, you're probably well on your way to losing.

    However,

    A) That last bit is Subject To Change
    B) It's also only true if you are the last person to die. Otherwise you pop into the map following the last person to die, and even if he died in the same explosion (or whatever) that killed you, you're locked on his last location.
    C) B is subject to change as well.

    So you want everything to stay as it is the first time it is coded, and even if it is bad, keep it that way? No.
