<div class="IPBDescription">MMORPG in beta</div> <a href='http://www.savageeden.com/' target='_blank'>Savage Eden</a> is now in free open beta, so sign up :> it's not bad, though I of course know I'll never pay for it when it becomes pay... it combines magic and swordplay with guns and energy weapons, which isn't entirely unique, but is cool none the less. give it a try.

I can't take credit for finding this -- someone else in these forums started a thread about it a month or so ago, so I went to the site and got on the mailing list, and was just notified yesterday of the open beta... so kudos to whoever posted the original thread =P

    Hmm, I watched the movies and the gameplay looks kinda like it has a D2 feel to it, only 3D. What kinda gameplay is it?

    I'll be signing up for one of them now that I'm on winter break, I have some free time.

    My run down on the game:

    I played BiosFear (WTH is with that name?) In the closed beta, and yes it is EXACTLY the same as SE

    1) yes, its a DII Knock off (down to assigning the skills hot key to T)

    2) The races are painfuly unbalanced
    Bulkans are basicaly over powered, they might start sucking when every one is higher level, but they can just always killthings much higher level then every one else (simply b/c they can take more dmg and thus have a chance to spam healing pots)

    3) Bulkans are booring, they don't get anyinteresting skills, ever.
    Their 2 'major skills' (you get em around 100+) are simply hit stuff harder, and a ranged attack that paralyzes.

    4) The other races get REALY cool toys (All 3 of them)

    5) you can get lvl 100 is under a month with any race (its close on an Aidian unless you have no life) You can get 100+ on a bulkan in under 2 weeks if you have no life.


    So yah, I ahve moved on from it but, meh sign up for the beta if you want (I think its probably 2 weeks)

    biosfear's in beta until probably february, while savage eden is pretty much pay to play now... you get 2 weeks free trial and then bam! pay up or leave... or go play biosfear which is exactly the same game run by a different company =P
