i keep dieing
i need help!!! i cant seem to do anything more than wait outside a door and eat rines who **** out. if i charge in i die. wat upgrades should i get and wat should i do!?!?!
since usually im either onos ofr fade in clan matches good upgrades to get are: Clerity: Allows you to enter fast attack and make damage then retreat before taking too much damage Regen: Allows you to heal around 45 health (at lvl3) per beat as well as do hit and run attacks Sof: Allows you to see enemies so if there are alot dont attack
If your a 1 hive onos u should u redemption instead of regen as u just want to do damage to your enemies without dying.
A few good tips for devour are trying to crouch and aim at the chest of your enemy whilst devouring. Also if your near 200hp you should begin to retreat. If you make it back with less then 30 hp u sohould try leaving earlier. Due to 3.0 being released soon these tactics will change as i think devour is much easier and as onos u are muc heasier to hit but have more health.
Hope this helps
I've found that celerity is good for making fast hit-and-run tactics when you're outside their base, and goes well with regen, (Or if a gorge has set up a DC outpost nearby you could go with carapace), or you can get redemption and just stay in their base untill it kicks in. Celerity also works wonders when combined with Charge and the marines have turtled in their spawn; Just charge in, eat a heavy, (Don't bother with stomping), and run out again before they know what happened. Adren is better if you're planning on stomp-spamming rines whilst your teammates take them down, or if you're planning on taking down an outpost and want to constantly Gore. Again, this goes well with regen. Silence is good if you're just messing about, and goes very well with cloaking. Fun to devour rines as they run past, they never knew what hit them. And remember, being an Onos doesn't make you God; You still need to rely on teammates. I've killed one by myself with an HMG, which just goes to show how vulnerable they are. You'll find life will be much easier if you have adren Gorges with constant healpsray, or Lerks providing Umbra support.
A good gorge helps too. Last night although the match came to a stalemate the aliens had the ultimate staging point at west skylights (forgot the map name). I built 8 d chambers and just about as many movements, along with oc for security. Onos's would choose adren, cara, and sof. Hit charge, run in, gore or devour, and get back by def's to heal instantly. THe movements continually boost your energy, so really some people would run in and out 10 times on one "endless charge". We ate lotsa people.
Find a lerk buddy. Get regen. If you're going to be a team player onos, get adrenaline so you can stomp the marines. If you're going to be anything else, get celerity. Both are great upgrades.
Find a lerk buddy. Have him use umbra. You last 3x as long.

Use caution. Remember that you are not invincible. Against a strong enemy force, do not make a rash assault. Patience is key. Annoy the enemies with stomp. Try to lure them out. And wait for an opportunity to arise.
Onos sometimes makes a better perimeter defense than frontal assault force. If marines have their base clustered up you may prefer to leave it to the other classes as they are all (even the gorge somewhat!) more nimble than an onos. You can hunt down stragglers that escape the alien blockade that may try to flank, kill hive or rt's (and build their own), a cc, etc.
If they can't break the stalemate, then you need to help. Ask them what they would like you to take out, or simply go after random stuff bit by bit. One of the best rules I've started following that helps me out alot, applies here: You don't need to finish every fight you start. Eat half a turret and low on health already? Fine, retreat, heal, go back and try again. Something I think you should think about as an onos is that he doesn't necessarily do more (lemme finish!), just that he can do the same damage another class can, and still run away to heal. Eventually you will take down the marines one structure at a time, or the marines "drink the poison kool-aid" (f4) or the comm recycles.
devour, its always a good idea to kill lone marines with them, but with a large group of them, redemption will do, charging in with well....stampeded/charge, in a corridor or hallway always does the trick. Devouring people over and over pisses them of, also makes them scared to go out of the base alone, a good thing. Never mess with JPs because they have an advantage over you. in previous versions, devour had an infinate range, while now they have changed that. Use devour on any lone marine u come across,. its instant death for them and unless oyu die later, its quite easiy to that they are dead for good, and that you got the eheatlth that you need and want, regen is always a good idea if you are going for hit and run, but if your team ahs 3 hives and has more then6 res towers, then oyu should be able to go in and charge without worry, no nee for redemp cant stop onos foo

Good AND bad. If they start bunching up, you'll have a harder time picking them off. Scattered marines are skulk fodder. Secondly, if they don't leave base, they'll lame base up, which means a drawn out and rather dull game.
Ok i rarely ever die with this combo, adren, scent of fear + regen. Adrenaline helps when ur running away u stomp backwards so marines cant follow you, regen helps u survive when attacking marines, scent of fear helps u see where and how many marines are in a certain area VERY IMPORTANT so u know where to attack and if u should or not

You try hitting an umbra/spore spamming lerk in full flight with a shotgun.
Primal Scream makes marines p*** their pants as well.
