Newbie, Cant Join Game: Cheat?!

  might be related to cheating-death on the server end telling you that. i have had issues with some wierd dlls in the windows folder (ex. opengl32.dll) or simmilar that appear out of no where, anyway there are hacks built into dll files that half-life uses for 3d rendering so if you find some opengl.dll in your hl folder take it out and try again. if this isnt the case it might be in the windows directory try reinstalling your video card drivers.

  I think he meant HalfLife as a general name. (i.e. Counterstrike, Dod, NS, etc) are all HalfLife oriented

  i just checked my sierra\cstrike and sierra\cstrike\cstrike folders, and there was no opengl.dll file. I don't think the servers i saw were running cheating death. how do i check my version? What version should i have? any further suggestions?

  You must have tried to join one of the beta VAC servers for ns.. cheating death wouldnt kick you with a message like that

  i did mean half-life as kinda a basic thing for all the cs and dod ect. sorry bout that
