The trigger and grip remind me of the Unreal 2 assault rifle that was converted from CS a while back. Is it a hack job?

Pretty nifty design. I like that the barrels aren't encased. I like seeing them.

looks ok, fix the smoothing a bit
  • LloydLintchLloydLintch Join Date: 2003-12-25 Member: 24752Members
the trigger is the same as the Unreal2 LMG it's true and the foward grip is only there to see what is looking (cause i tryed the animation whit the unreal lmg bone) i will change it soon and put some other thing on it put the only thing from the unreal lmg is the trigger ... cause i like it but if u guy want me to make a own one i will do it ...
  • Wolf_KahlerWolf_Kahler Join Date: 2002-11-29 Member: 10252Members
I won't suggest either way because I don't want to get involved in an IP violation discussion. It's safer to make your own and it may be difficult to reach the guy who made the U2 rifle. Do what you would feel most comfortable with.

Wow, a very nice model. The front and rear grips are good expecially.

    2 suggestions.

    1. Replace the sight on top with a spiderweb sight. It would just look cooler.

    2. Replace the stock with an arm brace instead. If youve ever seen one of those long-term crutches that has a grip and an ring that goes around the arm to stabilize it, then you know what im going for.

Nice, are you gonna work on the mag a bit. Right now it looks a little weak.
  • ChronoChrono Local flyboy Join Date: 2003-08-05 Member: 18989Members
it looks nice the mag should be a little thicker so the bullets would seem to be bigger
  • Leaderz0rzLeaderz0rz Join Date: 2002-11-09 Member: 7847Members
make the forearm more like the default NS shotty shape wise, make the handel thicker, work on your sights alittle.
  • NineteenNineteen Join Date: 2003-12-23 Member: 24701Members
Looking very nice, I hope this one makes it to the final stage.
    good luck

I think it'd look cool with the muzzleflash coming out the barrel on the bottom, as if it were like one of those oooold water-cooled MG's. The mag's on the bottom, they could easily fire out the bottom without doing too much travelling. But then, there might not be enough room in there for the firing chamber. Might have to make the receiver and foregrip a little deeper. Just a thought.

    A few other thoughts:

I like the arm brace idea. Like something out of a Jim Lee-style comic book [back when he had pencilers working for him who did StormWatch and had those insane gun designs while immitating the style he employed in the opening issues of the X-Men series that marked his departure from Marvel].

A much more elaborate sight with some sort of ladder, dials and slidy things, like an M203 grenade launcher might be nifty. Completely useless, but so very cool ["Just aim in them's general direction, Cletus! Ya'll're bound tuh hit SOMEthin'!"].

The pistol grip seems a touch flimsy now for my tastes, like a WW2 Sten kind of thing. The piece coming out the bottom that goes to the shoulder stock seems disjointed, like it shouldn't be there. Something not very often seen in futuristic firearm designs is the kind of grip found on a BAR, or Remington shotgun of some sort [where the stock comes out the bottom of the grip, which would be in line with an arm bracing half-hoop].

Thickening the drum mag [front to back] would add weight to its already impressive physique, as has been said already. However, having it hang so low from underneath the thing prevents the shooter from getting it very close to the ground. Spreading them out to be a little more like a Beta "C" drum might be interesting. As might an encased chain that one could have hanging over their left arm [think Jin Roh]. What I mean by "encased" is you wouldn't see the shells [less animation! yay!] inside a flexible protective metal sheath. The draw animation could have the left arm come up under, scooping the chain up to hang over it in a nice, smooth motion.

While it would be as useless as a pretty, elaborate sight, the presence of a sling and retracted bipod could add a sense of usefulness to it. As if it were really intended for infantry support.

    Just some thoughts.

The current mag looks like one of the magazines on a uber fast nail gun that a roofer would use. I believe the rounds that would be used in a gun like this would be quite larger.
