A Few 1.04 Questions

Alright, so I hear that there's still a few good old fashioned 1.04 dedicated servers around... My first question is... Where are they? I am guessing they're non-steam but what are they called and what's their IP address?
Other question is can you join a 1.04 server with 2.0 installed? If not, can you have both 1.04 and 2.01 installed at the same time and how do you do that?

rename your ns folder ns 2.0 then install 1.04 (when you want to play 2.0 rename your ns folder ns 1.04 and rename ns 2.0 to ns)
I don't think there are any servers that are being left up, I think there were just some pug and temp servers up or something
I wrote a batch file that toggles between ns 1 and 2 by using CHOICE to rename one or the other. It's not hard to do, so I think you can whip one up. HTH
EDIT: I have a copy of the choice.com file if you need it, so PM me. There are DOS sites all over the place where you can get better versions too.
1) ASE is faster than half-life's built-in server browser, so ASE is highly recommended even if you're looking for a normal game to play
2) Its filters are quite flexible, not just server names (which don't always follow the up-to-the-minute server changes). You can search for servers that have tournament mode on (friendly fire, woohoo! This is very often turned on briefly without server name changes), that have 2.01, 2.0, or any other very specific server version... sometimes even whether a server has a particular mod installed (eg. lerklift).
3) You don't need external programs to change options or whatnot, it's all built in. This might not be a big deal at first, but I have 10 - 15 different checkboxes I regularly toggle to select different criteria, depending on what I'm looking for or how many servers are available at any given moment.
I dont think there is a permanent 1.04 server that gets left up but maybe its an idea to leave in the server op forums.
