I really want just a few commands...
I've seen people using it in games and I'm wondering if anyone knows what the impulse commands for the alien sayings that you can no longer access from the pop-up menu are. Particularly "attack" "incoming" and "need healing". Also, anyone know if these are still in 3.0? Thank you.

Edit: spelling grammar

found an impulse list here http://nsplayer.com/index.php?s=40 but I'm still wondering if the unused commands with be in 3.0...

"attack" and "incoming" are not in 3.0.

What flayra is planning to do is to merge the impulses, so the impulse for "medpack" will be the same as the impulse for "need healing", "taunt" and "chuckle" will be the same too.

    Hopefully

Most of the marine impulses are the same for the old alien sayings. The ones I can remember... I think are 'need orders' 'acknowledged' 'need ammo' and 'need health'. Bind those to a few keys and they'll say something when you play aliens also. Of course, no one knows what they mean anymore, so it's really only going to be for fun.

Well, "I need a medpack, STAT" is rather self-explanatory. Unless your comm is a non-english speaker you should not have any problems.

I personally have T,G,Z,X bound to "Health", "Ammo", "Ready", and "Orders" repsectively. Many times these have saved my life when battling skulk hordes - You can fire and ask for meds simultaneously without obscuring your HUD.

Or you could have just ran a search and found my list here. Ooo, and how nice of NSPlayer to just copy my list word for word.

He probably did not meant the human "i need a medpack..." but the skound the kharaa makes when you press the same button. No one discerns the kharaa sounds.

I've observed that "need healing" will usually elicit the desired response from Gorges. Though perhaps they just hear a mysterious noise and become curious, and then realize that its source is damaged and needs healing.

Running to gorge and biting/clawing him has the same effect.

In a similar way that a Heavy jumping up and down with his welder goign flat out is trying to say "Weld me please," even if he spams the voice channels with "WELD WELD WELD THE JUMPING HEAVY NOWONWNOW CH00 n00BS!"

    Ahem.

On a similar note, is there an impulse to "switch to weapon 1" or "use weapon 1"? I was hoping I could have my mouse buttons 4 & 5 activate or select my first and second weapons. Is that possible?

I don't know of any impulse command that does that, but can't you just use the slot1 command?
  • DragonMechDragonMech Join Date: 2003-09-19 Member: 21023Members, Constellation, Reinforced - Shadow
I'll give that a try. Thanks.

*schkkt* Houston, we have a solution. *schkkt*

The "slot" commands did the trick.
    bind mouse4 slot2
    bind mouse5 slot1

    Thanks for your help!
