Custom Maps, Or Lack Thereof

<div class="IPBDescription">aka boredom of stock maps...</div> I'm sure I'm not the only person who feels this way, but there's such a lack of servers with custom maps that are actually populated enough for a decent game (on steam anyway). Only one I know is lunixmonster's ns_hydrosity. Playing the stock maps over and over again gets so boring now, and when the tactics used in there are the same -every- time, it's even moreso.

This isn't me bitching, per say...I'm just frustrated at the tedium that seems to have set in now, the game just doesn't seem as enjoyable as it once was. I've been playing since 1.04 (and no, this isn't a "oh em gee 1.04 was so much better than 2.0!" thing, far from it) I just feel there aren't enough official maps to keep the game fresh. Hopefully this will change in 3.0 (I know there are several added maps, but most are combat ones), but still...

    Lunixmonster is now running ns_nirvana and ns_mystic in the standard rotation. Hydrosity got taken out due to gameplay issues, although I believe it's still on the server if you happen to be there when an admin can start a votemap. Ns_mystic is one of the new 3.0 maps also, if the changelog is to be believed. Get to know the best stratagies ahead of time, beat the rush!

    What changelog was that in? Currently the new ns_maps in 3.0 are:
    ns_agora,
    ns_ayumi,
    ns_delta
    and
    ns_metal
    All those maps are quite large (if not "huge"), so you will have a lot to learn and find out there.

    I thought LM took down all custom maps because people didn't get it into their head to download them and they emptied the server?

    ns_am
    ns_colony_v2
    ns_hydrosity
    ns_mystic
    ns_nirvana
    ns_phobia_rc3
    ns_rampage

    If anyone wants to play on fridays, they can go and get the map pack from <a href='http://www.clan-twhs.com' target='_blank'>www.clan-twhs.com</a> in our downloads section
