And for real leet-speek you should replace ALL letters with numbers/weird stuff that can't be read So replacing s with 5 and t with 7 is just the beginning hehe
Would it really be worth the work and money to get NS retail on the HL engine? I could be wrong but I think it would be a lot less of a hasol to just wait to get NS-2 on the HL-2 engine retail
Just to clear up some buisness confusion: If NS wanted to go retail in its current incarnation, it would need to license the Half-Life engine from Valve. That would give Flayra and Co the the entire source code, development libraries, as well as the right to publish Natural-Selection.
It would NOT be what happened with Day of Defeat or Counter-Strike. Both of those mods were third party teams hired by Valve after Valve bought their intellectual property. Valve then had the same team work on retail versions of the mods. Valve could have, theoretically, bought the IP of Day of Defeat and given the job to another company to produce (ala Condition Zero).
Before (after?) everyone yells 'Sellout!' a retail version of Natural Selection would actually be good. First, Flayra would have access to a much larger part of the Half-Life code base, meaning it could be tweaked so third-person animations worked. He could also streamline some graphics by integrating the particle-system into the primary renderer. He could make a lot of little improvements currently impossible with the mod engine.
Does anyone know if Half-Life has be licensed for a third party game?

o New company name:
o Flayra discussing future games, and wanting to get NS retail
o Does not effect 3.0 release date.
I think thats all you need to know.
THAT'S hassle...
and it cost money to get rights to the engine right?
so why pay for something that no one is going to buy soon anyways?
