No Crosshairs For Marines/parasite

I just installed NS on Steam today, and I don't get crosshairs for parasite or the marine weapons, and I get the regular HL splash screen instead of the NS splash screen...How do I fix these?

2.01 wasnt made to be so compatible with steam. Joev did make some sort of pack which makes it play ok with its crosshairs etc, but you wont get that new spalsh screen unless you either get veteran status or donate.

My advice is dont play 2.01 on steam.. just wait untill 3.0 =)

You don't get the splash screen unless you donate or get veteran status? What a stupid way to try and make money (no offense).

Also, how would you go about getting veteran status and where is this "pack?"

There has been a <span style='color:red'>resource.zip </span>available for some time which replaces the four-eyed gimp one with a nice Natural Selection splash screen. UGL-NS has it available on their Downloads page... you can get it <a href='http://www.ugleague.org/module.php?id=43&PHPSESSID=364d5978ddd34c74b65aeb44178990fb' target='_blank'>here.</a>

Yes, I've fixed that, but I want to know how to fix the crosshairs.

Check your \<i>Steam path</i>\half-life\ns\sprites folder, and make sure that the following files are there (by comparing it with the non-Steam equivalent):
all the weapon_XXXXX.txt
all the xhairXXXXX.txt

You misunderstood what he said about getting the splash screen, right now, the only people who have it are people who have 3.0 (which is in beta). You can get 3.0 by either donating, or becoming a veteran

I have the splash screen, and I don't have 3.0 nor am I a veteran.

Thank you kindly. That's all I really needed. I could have dealt with the 4-eyed gimp but if that's fixed, that's cool too.
