Using boxes = teh devil!
Got milkshape and finally decided I'm going to frigging learn how to model. Got really easy (but time consuming) once I figured out how to do it one vertex at a time.
For my first project I did a kukri, because a knife is something nice and simple to start with, and I have a kukri myself and I rather like it.
I'd rather have that than the little dinkey TSA knife vs. the Kharaa in meelee.....can be used like a hatchet except more lethal because almost the whole edge of the blade is a limb-removing "sweet spot" when sharp enough
Please note that this is only one shape, they all have this basic profile but some are a little different depending on if they've been made to work better at some things than others (machete, multi-purpose, hatchet stuff, etc) This one is a more modern-style that had a rubber grip. I may model my own knife later, it's a traditional style with a more agressive curve and a wooden grip that I must say looks real sexeh.
Also note that GIMP doesn't save jpegs well....here's the pic

looks nice, pc might be a bit high for a knife, but i personally don't mind, gj
If you look carefully, the thread starter said he owned a kukri as well.
Blade is unchanged, put on a better-looking (and lower poly) grip. I also figgered out how to make GIMP save jpegs in better quality
