1 lonely HA is no problem even with only 1 Hive. He cant weld himself so sooner or later he ll fall. Try to attack together (simoultaneous) with some other teammates and from multiple directions. Normally, HA Rambos aint the best players so you have good chances. HA group on the other Hand is powerful. Your best bet is 2nd Hive Stomping Onos. If you dont have onos, good Skulks and a Lerk umbra could do some damage. Fade dies to easy, so should be used only as blinking ammo-waste-distraction. If you dont have anything other than 1 Hive, GG, you probably let the Marine Team get too many RTs while wasting time on something else (for example trying to fend off constant Hive attacks). You can prolong game a little, but all in all you have lost the race.
Generally just rush him and try to do SOME damage, failing that make him do the para dance and tie him up till your friends arrive.
Sometimes you can choose to ignore, but lone heavies sometimes magic up PGs near your hive, so you should always keep an eye on them even if you don't *kill* them.
Bite a couple times while strafing, then chuckle and leap away. THE CHUCKLING IS CRITICAL TO THIS TECHNIQUE. The more chucking the better. Hopefully the heavy armor will pause to find his key bound to taunt, and you move in for the kill!!
now THAT is good humor
yeah a skulk is ok against a lone HA......if his sensitivity is low, try to stay behind him, he wont turn so quickly
A lone HA is seldom going to be a particularly major detriment. Usually these guys are the same as your average unproductive rambo Onos, the kind who, instead of rushing base with the whole rest of the team, goes around goring one marine RT at a time. The onos is essentially doing the job of a fade, or even skulks, just as the lone HA is doing the job of a JPer or even a plain LA marine. In that regard, you might only be losing an OC here and there, or maybe the HA is going RT hunting. This will usually make him easier to ambush. If he's just off doing his own thing, and it's not hurting the team, or he's not heading anywhere vital, run away, leave him, and don't become free res for the rines.
On the other hand, a train of HA coming for the hive, or a hotly contested area like double nodes or other such places, is going to be a major problem.
1) nothing stands up in the face of a HA train except stomping onos. However, the stomper can, with a good bunch of hallways and corners, keep the HA train occupied for a while. Without a stomper, you only have a limited time anyway. A few hard to hit, well hidden OCs along the HA train-tracks will slow them a little bit. But just give up the idea that you'll be able to take down a good HA train with skulks, gorges, or even lerk armies. Fades, Onos, and masterfully placed OCs in high places are the only hope you really have to either stop them, kill them, or delay them for a long time.
2) If they don't have PGs, and their whole team is HA and out of base, it might be best for those skulks, who are going to be free res for shotgunner HA, to instead of giving the marines free res for meds and ammo, group up and attack marine base with a vengence. Without PG, JP, Elec Base Defense, or Base Guard, mere skulks can start working on the buildings in base while the HA train is delayed or stomped to a standstill. If you have to, just give up on that second hive and focus on blitzing marine base to nothing, force them to reloc, set up their whole base and upgrades again, whatever. You were going to lose your second hive anyway.
3) If they have PGs, a way to guard base while they are away, no RTs to destroy, elec RTs, you have no fades or onos or OCs to slow them up, or you just have no teamwork, gg anyway. HA are an endgame toy anyway, and the most expensive one at that. If they can afford HA trains, chances are their com is done winning and is just sitting back and letting his rines have fun. Beating the HA train is going to require a total miracle fluke at one hive, and a lot of teamwork even at two hives, with advanced life forms. Only at 3 hives does it become easier to ward off HA trains with Xeno, Web, Acid Rocket, and sensory backed up with advanced hive skills.
Usually you're screwed is what I'm trying to say. o_o

Taking down a lone ha is easy, you can get him panicky easy, especially if you have cloak, just chuckle all around him.
Taking down a train is alot harder, its good to have a onos, just keep stomping while your friends come and help, a lone onos vs 5-6 ha is no match. If you can prevent them from welding its even better.
Devour one and they want to try and save lunch, stop/gore them and they run away in fear of being eaten

I suggest getting fades to blink through a group and draw fire while skulks/gorgs skirmish them on one side in a rush. If you have two hives I suggest adding a lerk for umbra support and an onos to stomp them into submission while the rest of the team deals with the threat.
Ps: If they have ha it will more then likely be a long game so keeping 4+ nodes is key- ie: map control. Having a fade go over their nodes is a big assest as Ha are not as manuverable as people would like .
If u get sc in beginning just waint just out of range for the obs near exits of marine base. They mostly run into you and you bite them one and two and his dead. Iw rearly ge detected before i mak at least 1 bite.
Lerks are helluva good on HAs armor just spike em and their armor will drop fast from a long distance.
NEVER go alone with a GL you die easily and + youv wasted 20 res.
When you got 3 hives and your an onos and in need of escapre just use rush and you'll run away fast from even the fastest jper.
Knife buildings dont waste ur god damn ammo. (Weilders are good also vs buildings)
If gorge get along with 2 other gorges 2 heal and 1 spit or all spray. You will be very hard to kill. (At least those i met)
Want to defend base and cant afford lots of turrets? build 2 ips with some space and a tf between them elec tf and voila a anti skulk def.
Cheap/booring tactic when you KNOW you gonna get eaten by a onos bind kill to a nearby button and click it BEFORE he eats you. You will drop dead out of the onos if there is suicide delay and he wont get the kill.
Look backwards often when marine 7/10 skulks come from behind and bites you to death.
When commander you know that obs with "Distress beacon" use it damit when lots of marines are dead and you are in need of soldiers in base!
Do something unexpected run/sneak into their hive and waint in a dark corner sooner or later some 1 will evolve then wham run and kill that egg. Maybe you even got an onos!
If there is somewhere were you often drop ammo packs build an armory its much cheaper if you think distant.
If u play vs withbots just go in a circle around the skulks they will jump in a circle to but much bigger and they wont hit you. For fades just duck and they wont hit you .

without a decent 2-hive onos, you are generally phucked vs group HA.
ive seen some leetzor onos bunnyhoppind devouring HA without stomp and win game even when rines had entire team HA/HMG at one point but meh, that wont happen often
Once you havea bite or 2, youll have tot run arounda nd go again, this is when most ppl are killed. When you trun around to shoothim, run on the outside (if hes running left in a circle, you strafe forward right and use the mosue to get to him) if you run on the inside, you are technically runnign right at him.
Like in all fights, it becomse so much easier when you have a friend helping you, if youre taking the brunt of his attacks, plan it so a friend chomps from behind, as long as youre not both infont of him, you can kill him quickly.
Ive killed a HA on my own beofr e afew times, and its generally that you need to pull his aim all over the place, try faking as well (runnign round left then going right then left again). Most peoples sensitivitys cant keep up with a celerity skulk anyway. mine being 10 i can just manage to keep up with a normal skulk.
Comments
As an alien I'm having trouble with the following situations and would like to know how to handle them.
1) A lone Heavy Armor equiped marine (for example ramboing into your hive).
2) A group of marines (for example running to double res).
Any advice would be well appreciated.
