They should have went with that design.
This is the first concept model of gordon (or somthing like that). He <a href='http://www.planethalflife.com/nostalgia/halflife/screens/gordon_earlier.jpg' target='_blank'>looks like a viking</a>.
And, in the early builds, at least, HL was supposed to be less like the HL we knew and more like quake. The <a href='http://www.planethalflife.com/nostalgia/halflife/screens/tentacles_earlyscientist.jpg' target='_blank'>horrible scis</a> are probally a good example of this.
The Bayeux tapestry, which is this massive, massive, massive embroidery (200 some feet, if I remember correctly) that tells the story of the events surrounding, and including, the Battle of Hastings.

remember half life is very very old when it first came out i am sure some of us werent even born!!!!!!!

but it is old and at the time the graphics were awsome things have just improved,

Just look a pong, then think its really not that old. Heck my granda ma was alive before 90% of the U.S. had power and running water. Just think what life will be like when we are like a 100?

It has a pic of a heavy weapon grunt, which was cut from the final game (but many mods have put them back in with a little coding) and the marine in front appears to be holding.... an uzi?
I do like the fan on the ground though...whatever that does.
