Felt like posting some artwork
this thread for one reason or another made me feel like drawing some sort of similar ns-related...thingy. Did this in one of my drawing notebooks in school. Scanner messed with the quality, as did resizing the image and saving to jpg. Somehow I think the scanner gave the flashlight beam an almost glowing effect though.
I've always drawn things in a more cartoon-like style even though it bothers me, I've come to accept it. Probably comes from the fact that even before I realised it I would draw things in concept-art fashion. I generally draw just characters, and maybe a little extra surroundings, which is why in this pic and in future ones (until I decide to improve my skills), the environments will look rushed (mostly because they are)somewhat out of perspective, cheesy, or just plain suck I usually just try to put in enough effort that the characters aren't floating in white-with-blue-lines outer-space, and that it looks somewhat like a normal setting for the guy. On most stuff they're off in their own previously mentioned blank void with no environment though
Have to use my imagestation account with further decreases the size of the pic, because for some reason paint doesn't like me and I can't save as jpg. Had to use GIMP which saves them nice but seem to have extra stuff done to them that the upload thingy doesn't like. So...after my long-winded introduction to this part of the ns forums, here's the pic you're probably impatiently waiting for by the end of this post:

Only problems I have with it,
The flashlight, It just doesnt belong.
The armor, Just doesnt look proper.

One thing the scanning, resizing, etc doesn't show well imo is that I tried to make the area look quite dark, while it looks ok, the scanner sharply contrasted some of the more defined smudgemarks where I pressed hard to smear the graphite on the paper...so...those smeary things aren't there as much. In the actual drawing it looks like he's in a dark place and the flashlight is lighting the area in front of him a bit.
I like it, that waterfall pic (the original) is still bothing me, its so freaky.
