Steam Wont Connect

Whenever i enter steam it keeps trying to check for updates then says steam cannot be reached at this moment, it been doing it for about 4 hours now

    It's one of those freak problems. WON used to have then when you couldn't play all night because you couldn't auth.

    Steam is a very smooth, quick application now. Only problem is 2.01 is NOT Steam compatible and so it crashes, a lot.

    Steam will probably up sometime today. Just wait. Be patient.
    Check <a href='http://www.steampowered.com' target='_blank'>www.steampowered.com</a> if you can afford the 10 minutes waiting time that it takes to load the page.
