For those who are still interested in the popularity of science among students, here is some statistics of how the students from OECD countries scored in science and mathematics tests.

<a href='http://www.pisa.oecd.org/knowledge/annexb/b1_3.htm' target='_blank'>A profile of student performance in mathematical and scientific literacy </a>

    <a href='http://www.pisa.oecd.org/NatReports/cntry.htm' target='_blank'>National reports of the tests</a>

These are few years old but not compelitely out-of-date.
