    PWN! The only downside I see is that fact that the water seems, a little too light or too see through.     really nice, perfectly dark for a near hive area, just the usage of the infested light texture as a trim texture looks a little odd to me

    Looks good, if you really wanna get rid of the glowing water, cover the top face of the water with the null texture, and put a func_illusionary over it (i think its func_illusionary) and null out all the other sides other than the top face...then it wil be light correctly (have shadows and stuff).

    batt, I don't see much point mapping something with the intention of making r_speeds so high that you can't use it...

    the skill in mapping for half-life is making the r_speeds low but still making it look attractive

    I do see the point on doing it.... I really don´t care makin the best looking map with the lower wpolys....
    I was pretty bored and i wanted to make somthing cool. If i would know how to properly use particles i would place a nice fog to make the place look even cooler.....
    Anyways, heres a new pic of the water hive, i fixed the glow on it

    and yeah, the water is too bright.  The infestation (growth) also looks very triangular where it is... try to make it more organic looking...

    On the last pic. You should add more contrast in the lighting. Also make more of an emphasis on the pillars on the side of the hallway. And make the glowing bar stand out less.

    Someone on IRC sugessted makin it the marine spawn or the readyroom.... It was quad, razork or radiocage....
    The problems are the high r_speeds
