<div class="IPBDescription">Finito? Benito? it's all greek to me</div> A friend and I are having a bit of a quarrel about what the sound, marine_order_complete5.wav actually is. Since it is an affirmation and sort of an okay like the other sounds of that type (i.e. "Got it done", "Objective Completed") I figured it means the same thing. I hear it as "benito" root being be[n] like bueno or bien, etc. Sounds familiar to me anyway. My colleague claims it's "finito", slang for finished. Like an exclaimation of failure, "We're finished". When I listen to the wav and look at the filename, that's not the message I'm getting because it plays after I've completed building something. Not to say that "benito" isn't slang either.
Can anyone vouch for either phrase? Which is he saying?

I'd have to agree on "We're benito", although since there appears to be some confusion about this I think we'll have to look towards some of the "crew" to answer that question.
If you would ever grow tired of listening to those funky American accents, there's a lovely soundpack available <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=19&t=57400' target='_blank'>here</a> so you can listen to an Australian accent instead and have a good laugh as well <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

btw it says finito...which in Italian means finished O_o
probably is a slang word meaning finished...
if you notice, sometimes after you reach a way point they say "we're finito"
as in we are finished with the order.

That's an "easter egg", you get in when aliens get three hives and three of every chamber, but not always. That's why it's an easter egg.
You can also get "This place is a mess" when there's stuff lying about the hive (marine weapons, chambers etc), "I see dead people" when the entire team is dead, and "We need better players" if aliens are really sucking badly. And I mean REALLY. I've never heard it played but I know it exists because it's in the sound folder.
There's also "this is my hive, there are many like it, but this one is mine", but that's the rarest of all and there seems to be mixed opinions as to what causes it to play.
I have been playing NS since the 1.0x days and i have built many hives and i have never, ever, ever heard it played in game before.
But i also have never heard the "i see dead people" one either in game...

That's from the movie Aliens if I remember correctly. I seam to remember a few other wavs from Aliens but I'm at school right now so I can't verify it.

Are you sure these are easter eggs and not just 3rd part files that your computer DLed when you joined a server that had them.

Anyway, I always thought it said "We're bonito" (bonito = pretty), as in "we're sitting pretty"
"This is my hive.." plays after you save a hive from attack (I believe a near death attack). Although it may be triggered only when a gorge gets the kill. But if easter eggs are turned down or off it will almost never happen.
I've never heard those alien easter egg sounds, I figured that they were artifacts that they stopped using from an earlier version of NS.

Everyone has them, BUT there is a server setting which checks the likeliness of the easter egg sound being played. So in a way it is server-side.
Finito in Italian means "finished".
