Ns (non-steam)

I have steam... and i really dont prefer playing ns over steam! is there any way i can play it regularly with-out steam? and with out it giving me an error when i try to join a game?

yes.. install to the c:\sierra\half-life directory not the steam one <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'> with 2.0...or2.1..cant remember

ok... that doesnt work. I reinstalled ns into the hl directory and it gives me an error when i try to join a game.

You need to have a original Halflife installation withuot steam for this to work. Once the original halflife is installed, reinstall natural selection

Steps:

1) Insert original HL/CSr CD into drive (NS does NOT work with DoDr)
2) Install game
3) Patch Game
4) Download NS 2.01 frome <a href='http://www.natural-selection.org/downloads.html' target='_blank'>here</a>
5) install NS into Directory where you just uinstalled HL or CSr

play

i just double clicked my 2.0 icon and installed to c:\sierra\half-life dir

then when i play in the all seeing eye, for some reason its set to servers for 2.1 despite installing 2.0 i still seem to join the games :/

2.01 would be the servers you want (2.1 dosn't exist it WAS going to be the next release but there were somany changes it is now 3.0)

as for ASE, just make sure you go to HL then mods and pinck NS (DON'T Go to steam half life)
