some people say it's better to duck while devouring
also, keep a certain distance between you and the marine - don't get too close

some people just say dont devour becuase its n00bish, but i say its a weapon that has been added into the game to use so use it, just dont **** it

Ok, stand about a good 2 feet away from the marine. Put the tip of your tilted horn on his chest, and devour. No ducking required. Now you have food in your tummay! ^^

dont **** it, you will get lots of angry people, plus it is kinda lame

It's fine as long as you aren't using it to spawn-camp.

ducking helps. hope you learn, because devour is pretty much the kharaa's only weapon to kill decently upped heavies. (excluding 3 hive abilities, and assuming marines arent total nubcaeks and dont wander off on their own)

Don't listen to this guy. Wasn't he the one saying "It was put in the game so use it"? My point is devour is fun and if that's how you enjoy the onos then go right ahead and abuse the attack. I love it myself, 5 rines rush me, I **** one up and kill the rest. That or you could stomp spam them and chuckle at them, that really pisses the marines off.

Yes use the attack because its really fun when you have a bunch of ppl who have there kill binded
and its fun just imaging them tring to hit the button b4 you eat them lol

here is the trick about devouring DONT EAT ME or you DIE!!!

Here's what I do, run up to the enemy, use stomp, then come up to the marine, duck and aim the devour at his feet, works perfectly for me everytime, use stomp + gore to kill the rest

the trick is the distance, its farther than you think. a lot of times you'll see a rine half-way inside an onos with the onos trying to devour him.

2 feet is a good distance, but you can go farther if you're good at judging distances.

some people think its lame, but its not. if you stick together getting devoured isn't a problem.

the worst thing to do to someone is to eat a jper while he's flying past you. use the range to your advantage.

keep the horn on the rine, and just devour. once you get it a few times it will be as easy as any other attack.

I've never really found distance to be a problem. I just aim at their knees while right next to them.

I think the main problem is that everybody uses the horn to aim.
You're supposed to position the target in the center of the screen (where the crosshair would be), and then devour. Simple.

Well the horn tip is where the crosshairs would be truthfully. I was always told to aim for their balls. Works everytime and I can **** JPs out of the air too. Just do me a favor and don't devour LA/LMG marines all the time. It's understandable witha base rush and you need that extra healing but ont he receiving side, it just makes the game boring. Just gore regular marines or lones marines and devour one that is in a large group or isn't standard armament.

Duckins is just dependant on the player. I think it does put you closer to where you need to hit to devour and it also warps your hitbox more then it is but it slows ya down a bit. Also, if you want to nab those JPers, wait for them to get on the ground, using the map architecture as cover, then stomp them, rush them and eat or gore them. I recommend goring them due to the fact that they can get away easily if you miss with devour.

Really, the tip of the horn (in the 'devour stance') is off to the right and a little down from the 'crosshair' position.

If you position the Marine at the tip of the horn, you won't be able to devour.

I never duck. I just aim for the feet and it works every time.

first of all , about people gettin **** at being devoured is just dumb . .
i dont get why u would get mad about bein eaten, i find it enjoyable to have a nice break once in a while...

and about the devouering , just like everyone said . . marine has to be right in the middle of ur screen where the crosshair would be.
• BuggyBuggy Join Date: 2003-11-08 Member: 22400Members, Constellation
Oo. which is it? tip of horn or centre of screen?

i use the latter, which generally works most of the time
