For all who think playtesting is great
Okay, today was the release of 3.0 version "F" for playtesters. Honestly, I think this version, at least in combat gets a nice big "F" grade from me. I'm sure everyone who is dying to play NS:C and wanting to it be released, will be saddened by the news that while tremendous strides are being made in improving balance, playability, as well as keeping the same level of fun, it is still very very riddled with bugs. The latest bug has shut down all Combat servers completely until a fix is in place. The bug is where after marines gain a single level, that their ability points to further their equipment/upgrades is not docked/decremented when one is chosen. So basically in English, if a marines gains from level 1 to level 2, he can choose all upgrades and still keep his +1 for gaining experience. This saddens me as I am in love with Combat, and as a fellow Constillation member/playtester, I felt to inform the community that we as well as the developers are working non-stop to deliver a fair and playable game. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

However, can't they do localized testing before giving it out to the PTs?
That is the PTs job.
At this time, NS not being one of the "official games", means that updating through steam is the same as usual, not the nifty "update when necessary" function :/

LOL! Quick, slay the troll!
And Aea, its the PT's/Vets/Constelation's job to do the testing. The build would be pre-tested for basic functionality (aka not crashing the server), but finding the bugs is left to us.

How about you think before you flame for once Forlorn. Flay didn't mean to break CO_ on purpose, the level up bugs are from a compiler error. All Flay meant by "turning off NS:C" was that the maps would be removed from servers.

Thats relatively recent, acutally. 3.0D or E, if I remember.
Now, if you can remember who Bob is, I'll be impressed

You mean people want to PT it just to be "1337"??
I beta test stuff so I can help its development along, not to be "1337"
(No, I dont do anything with 3.0, for reasons undefined)

for probably the first time in NS history i actually agree with this guy
It's the secret handshake of a secret society formed in secrecy to protect the secrets that have been secretly collected through years of secret gaming.
