    Here's a question.. what should I call this thing? So far I've been saving it as 'Heron Personnel Transport', but I'm not sure that fits quite right.. I don't think of it as a full-scale dropship, but I can't think of any good names that fit its shape. Suggestions?

    Here's a work in progress shot of the shuttle with custom textures. Too light? Too Dark? Too Dirty? Too Clean? Too Rough?
    I was thinking of doing a frontiersman/camoflage variation what do you think?

    It is a bit too detailed in my opinion. Over 230 brushes, with 1500+ faces. However, it is hollow and I can see a few optimizations...

    Given the two images, I prefer the dark. But depending on lighting conditions the light could look better.

    Howabout adding some warning stripes or some other markings around the cockpit, engines and maybe tips of the wings? Or TSA logo on wings?

    Looks good that, recolour especially. I tried to make a dropship before, but mine sucked badly compared to that..

    I really like the logo on the wings.. what if it weren't all one solid color? The stripes around the top and bottom of the crew pods in the original version I sent you was something I was playing with that might look neat with custom textures to make it really fit in, and since it's so big, it might help to break up the texturing a little bit with more pieces of different colors.

    As for the detail, I agree, it's on the high side.. I'm planning on simplifying all the rounded edges and corners, which should cut down on faces (and possibly make texture application a bit easier, too). However, most of that optimization will probably be lost when the internal architecture is added, so.. I dunno. Chrome, what optimizations were you thinking of?

    so, what's your plan on this? if it's your RR, are you even gonne see the outside? it would be a cool "out the cockpit" view, where you see the dropship from the marine spaw out a cockpit or hanger door, and you wouldn't even have to hide your RR. Actually, I'm not sure of how the game dynamics would work with this (people in RR screwing over MT and stuff), but it's an idea.

    wow! great! its... just...awesome. ihad this idea of making a dropship like in ns_stargate. with your cc in the dropship. and the marines are landing on the planet with siegecannons and it goes bang bang and aliens coming from everywhere to destroy the dropship. unfortunately im a really bad mapper so...thx a lot the dropship is great. please release it. by the way...how big is it? could you place a marine model in one of the screenshots?

    hmm It looks nice, but no one has the r_speeds answer...
    How many w-poly is this ship?

    If its 500+ it could still be used if you put it in a not so detailed hangar or something with some kind of visblocker... (inaccesable details own <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->)

    Note:
    It needs landing gear. just doesnt look right supporting all that weight on the wings (this also would be adding in r_speeds )

    Are these vehciles i keep seeing on screen shots flyable?
    like can i press e next to vehicle or soemthing and drive it like it's done in tfc/cs..
    i know this isnt cs/tfc but it would be SO cool to drive thsoe vehciles or atleast have that huge space ship you guys been working on have auto pilot and take off ocne all marines go in it or something MAN that would be so cool...IMO all your screen shots look nice and i wish i could make some but i dont know how to <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Darkcommando: Er... no. That would require extensive coding, plus it wouldn't really add anything since the maps are small and lots of thin hallways. Besides, I don't even think it would work very well (or at all) in the Half-Life engine.
