I know that NS uses the old, but still useful HL engine. I was wondering how good the game looks in action. I am sure that you can sneer at NS, and say things like notice lack of trillinear filitering. In the scheme of things all the matters is that as a marine you leaped out of your seat when you get attacked by a alien, or run in fear when you get swarmed. Does NS graphics do a good job at making you move slowly around the level. Besides I like having a game that my computer still run with decent framrate, and also has good netcode. I am sure that NS using a old engine like HL will not take much away from it, and that the new graphics effects like better particles make the HL engine even better.

And they assured us that the netcode is pwn.
Everytime i play NS, i walk around in the maps and i am amazed to see what they have done to Hl. The maps look so smooth, everything is perfect. Sure, you can see it´s HL (the entities, the models, the death-HUD), but still, it´s just MORE THEN HL..
You´ll see when you play. I think lots of people with older systems (read, systems like mine that cannot handle the newest games at a normal resolution) will play NS because it looks so beautifull with such an old engine. I play CS a lot because it runs so smooth on my system, wich makes it nicer to play instead of crappy FPS...
Trust me on this one. NS looks fine enough. People won´t not play NS because it looks old. Its just the best game i´ve ever seen *sigh*
As much as it is tempting to read this as a statement of profound and deeper meaning, I do believe that Shuvit is referring to the env_gamma entity in NS, which boosts the vibrancy of colours the same way Quake3 does.
