Ns 3.0 Public Beta Problem

I wasn't having any problems with the beta before it went public, but when I updated to the public beta version for 3.0 my NS became un-playable. I deleted steam and NS and reinstalled it all, but I'm still having this problem.

My NS freezes as soon as the music starts playing on the GUI or on the Establishing Network Connection to Server screen if i try to join a server from the desktop. I have to alt-tab and end the task to get back to the desktop. The music keeps playing until i end task, but the menu never pops up on the gui and nothing ever happens as far as progress with the connection to the server. I thought this was weird because I am not having any problems with HL or CS just NS.

This is the Public Beta 3 for STEAM that is giving me the trouble. I updated my catalyst drivers in the frenzy to try to fix NS.

Any help would be appreciated.

That's good what about the problem of the original post anyone got a solution to that, I tried a regedit steamrolling of everything with the word steam and then a reinstall of steam and ns and it actually worked the first time i clicked on NS in the games menu but it stopped working the second and subsequent times.

OMG I had the same problem, I did the regedit searching for Steam and that fixed it for like a little while, but then I went and installed 3.0 beta 2 and the problem went away completely.

Seems other people are having/had this problem not just me and Wizard. maybe someone should put the solution in the stickied thread with all of the solutions?
