<div class="IPBDescription">for everyone who doesnt know what to do</div> So the TSA has new weapons for us... but how good are they really?
The Grenade: good friend of every lerk sitting in a vent. but how many damage does it to buildings? I used my grenade against a restower and it took about 15% of its HP. thats not really that much. but hey...use it against OCs. It will make it easier for you to bring them down. however against restowers... better use your knife. I found out that a good use of grenades is if a skulk or more attack a restower and you are near but they haven´t seen you yet. throw a grenade. Either they will die or they will jump out to prevent from being killed by the grenade. As soon as they are out you kill them. Next tactic I found out is: Marine 1 throws his grenade into a room-->marine 2 jumps into the room. if skulks come from the ceiling the grenade will kill them while the grenade doesnt affect the marine.
And the last tactic: for bigger lifeforms. throw your grenade behind them. if they want to run away it will explode and make it much easier for you to bring it down.
oh another important thing: Throwing of grenades takes sooo much time so check the area carefully before your take out your grenade. perhaps you could ask another marine to protect you while you throw the grenade.
Ah and a last one for the noobs. if you allready pulled the trigger of the grenade but its still in your hand... just press 1,2 or 3 and you will switch to another weapon without throwing away your grenade.
i hope these tactics can help you a bit. These tactics aren´t too difficult but I think its better if the noobs now what to do with their grenade instead of throwing it at the next thing they see .

A good tactic ive only been able to do once but worked perfeclty is if a skulk is chompin a res tower and its hard to shoot him, throw a grenade over and draw hi m out!
Also, several times I've found myself out of ammo and being chewed to pieces by a couple skulks, so like the movie Aliens I whip out that grenade and chuck it at the floor just before I die. Works great <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->.
It's like the glas thing you have blood examples in filled with TNT and a trigger.
Use it to clear out rooms, vents, and take a chunk out of that oc's hp. Works best with motion tracking.
lol.... and while your priming your nade he comes out eats you goes down to the local IP bar 50 miles down road eats your squad mates and still has time to pick his teeth clean before the nade blows up 50 miles away.
hehe im sorry i just think nade prime time is a joke at the moment.
And I don't think that grenades are worth of saving "for later use". The lifetime of a LA marine isn't too long, so grenades should be used whenever needed.
As for bigger lifeforms, I think they are über useful. Once two onii were taking down out turrets, so I threw a grenade at one of them. My teammates noticed what I did, and threw their nades. The first onos went down, and the second one wasn't too hard to kill

I have made use of this strat and it takes about 30 seconds for the aliens to arrive on scene. More often then not the hive can be killed, and if it is not then a 2nd immediate rush finishes it off.
Nades can be used extremely powerfully with rushing tactics, especially efficient with higher level weapons.
