Maps

I really don't know if I missed it on the main page, but I'm looking for overhead maps of every default level in NS. Some ready rooms have them on the wall... but I'd really like to be able to study it/call for it whenever I need it.

A website with these on it would be a wonder.

Also: If there are marks on the map showing the different "areas".... I hope you know what I mean.. like Lower Junction or whatever, that would be an even BETTER help. So very tired of people screaming at me when I run the wrong way :-)

Thanks.

I'm not sure exactly where to find it, but I believe there are overhead views of the maps in your NS folder that you can look at.

Also, I know someone made replacement minimaps that included the room names on the map. I don't have the link for them but, if someone else is nice enough to link it....

Oh, and if you didn't know, you can bring up a mini map in game by holding the C key, unless you rebound it that is...

did NOT know all that, thanks

    and what's "rebound"?

Rebound = change your key bindings (change what your keys do)

I also found a link for the named minimaps. A forum member named Wolv has them in his sig. Do a search for him, then dl them from his sig.

    *Edit*
I found the files in the ns folder, the folder called overviews. So, your command line would look like C:\Sierra\Counter-Strike\ns\overviews

Or wherever your NS folder is.

These are the ones I use, but they are out of date (1.04). The layout is still basically the same though, but if anybody has newer ones, let me know.

Try asking that question here instead: http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/in...php?act=SF&f=34

Basically though, you've already got the testures in the ns.wad file in your ns folder.

Ya everyone knows all the stuff and they are always like "HURRY HELP US OUT AT FIFTEENTH QUADRANT SEWER ACCESS" and I'm like "**** what the Dodge this. is that, so I continue on my merry way.

Hmm I would be annoyed that someone edited out my swear if I wasn't a matrix fan.

Erm.. some people have been getting it wrong. I checked my nsp folder and there's no "overview" directory.

To view the minimaps, goto ...\nsp\sprites\minimaps\ and you'll find a .spr for each map in the game. You'll need a program called SprView (google it) to open them and export them. Once exported they'll be placed as 5 bitmaps. One for each quarter of the map, and a fifth for an entire overview for the commander.

a8085 has made customised minimaps for the new 3.0 maps.

    http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/in...0560&hl=minimap

he is working on the old maps which have been changed. Why didn't the NS team include named minimaps in 3.0? I guess they have to give the customisers something to do
