How Can You Tell?

Howdy folks! Our clan runs a small NS server. With NS 3.0 we have become increasingly more interested in playing NS. As all of our admins are still noobish, I wanted to get some advice from some of the veteran players on how to spot cheaters. Are there some classic signs to be looking for? Any good anti-cheat apps? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would ask in the server support forums. They seem to have all the answers for the questions you ask. I would ask a mod to phase this over there. Then watch it for the answers you seek <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Cheating Death (google it) is the biggest 3rd party cheat prevention program. It is updated regularly and has the added benefit it keeps away lame, stupid players, even those that DONT cheat, as they can't be bothered downloading it. That's the main reason we run it.

With steam there is VAC support (Valve-Anti Cheat) but I understand that it is not enabled in the 3.0 Beta. Am I correct?

I haven't seen a cheat in NS for months, although I don't play on the kind of servers that attract them. I think cheating is certainly far less of a problem than it is in CS.
