Don't worry too much about that VC++ error, that's just microsoft attempting to be useful.

Try installing the v1.1.1.0 patch, it should fix the exe.

Make sure you don't have any weirdo executable switches in the shortcut.

i have tryed replacing the opengl.dll's and also have got a new copy of hl to test if the .exe was bad but its not any idea's ?

Install steam?

Yah, I know, it dosn't fix the problem but it could be a viable work around (and then you also get to play the beta <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />)

steam is installed (breaks down and crys)

HL hates me i'm sure of it.....

btw its happens on won, steam and just trying to play the single player GaMe!!!!!

I've got the same problem. Yet sometimes it loads perfect and sometimes it just crashes......So its just a gamble when it will work, luckely it works 1 out of 6 times...so I just reconnect...

1 out of 6 time it will not crash with in 3 mins of the game starting for me :'(

Got the same problem.... though it's not only in NS.
I don't know if it's steam or my geforce fx 5600 that is messing with the game...

same here, Xp pro sp1 and gf4 but I don't know if it's Nvidia's fault seeing that CS work perfectly.....
