  depending on how big your hdd is, how long you feel like downloading, and what games you wana be able to play, you can download:
  
  The HL installer if you only want NS, the CS one if you want CS and the other huge one if you want it all.
  
  basicaly go to the download page AND FOLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!

  Ok thanks. I got the Half-Life Steam installer. Now, where do i install it?

  where ever you want to. (my suggestion is C:\games\Steam)

  Thanks. I only wanted Steam for NS because i have DoD and some other mods which I don't want to run Steam in.
