it was from vers 1.04 or 1.00 i think,im still too much of an early member to haev experienced them but i can tell you they were a gorge weapon that let out these tiny little creatures that go attack marines, i dont see why they were took out, i wish i could have a go of em and itll definetly make me play gorge more often.
It was the 4th (3-hive) weapon of the gorge in versions 1.0 to 1.04. It created skulks that attacked the marines and then died (like the snarks in HL), but the babblers were DUMB, caused lag and weren't very efficient because too easy to kill and they moved like turtles. So they removed them.
I was way better at <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif' /><!--endemo--> kills using babblers <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif' /><!--endemo--> than spike / healspray. Babblers, as stated, were like snarks, but <b>extreamly</b> dumb. I dont see why that had their own code, instead of just using the existing snark code and model. The babblers should have just been another model replacement of the snark.
I loved babblers, although they were nigh useless, and extreamly rare to see in your standered game of NS, just like the onos. But that was with hive restrictions on the lifeforms, you needed three hives to get an onos, and two hives to get a fade. They were rare also because the hives took sooo long to build and were expensive.

i still love the babblers the most... good old 1.00
Babblers rocked, plain and simple. They were the only weapon Gorges ever had that could kill marines effectively.
