[req] Alien World Map

<div class="IPBDescription">Like in half life...</div> I started up a game of half life, just because i was really bored <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->. Anyway, i took a screenshot of the alien world you are teleported to as the 'resonance cascade' is taking place, and i think this would be a great idea for an ns map.
(sorry if someone has suggested this before, i did a quick search)

Maybe a siege map with an alien theme...
Perhaps a more closed environment would balance it better?
Not a bad idea, anything is always worth suggesting.. Get a forum admin to phase this to the mapping section though, thats where it should belong.

yes i know. But as you can see, there appears to be a tunnel complex in the background, the open areas would just be for hives/marine start. The HL engine doesnt support open spaces very well either. Grass or some sort of thick plant-like lifeforms could be added so skulks have cover.

The 3 Hive problem could be easily worked around, with simple Storyline techiques.
Something like, Marines have been fighting an ongoing war, strategic points have been made. Now its the finalchapter of the War..blah blah blah.
Just cos its the Alien Homeplanet..does not mean they have to have 3 hives. Marines could have been there for some time and destroyed vital factions..etc etc.
I think if it could be done well, it would be very different. A new angle of NS could be Created <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I actually quite like the look of Xen, nice textures from Valve. Not really sure if it suits the NS alien theme though...
They wouldnt be attackable or anything, they'd just be map objects, but it would add something to it.
