skill: above average for both sides
preamble: they have satcomm, we take dbl, hold it, take waste and western. advance to cargo, hold for a bit, get bit down. ocs go up, mucho support. try to get ppl there again, we start getting squad breakup (i'm setting wps too far away, with no rallying point :S ).
constant attacks on rr. elect both rts in rr. get skirmishes at western and waste, have ot put them back up.
decide cargo is a lost cause, around the 8ish minute mark (a1, mt, w1, w2 on the way) decide to just siege out satcomm. but ppl are EVERYWHERE!! in rr, in the vent to sat comm from rr, at the pathways, at western.. AUUGH!! so i hit beacon. YAY!! they are all nice and together now!
push them out, group of 6ish to sat. put up tfac and 3 sieges, with a smatter of sgs. we start to take it down, HEAVY skulk and lerk and gorge retaliations, heavy heavy losses. we get back, hold siege position, a few move onto to chem, to cap the rt. by this time, RR is down, western and waste rts going down a LOONG time ago. TWO onii show up, stomping and whatnot. MORE heavy losses up the WAZOO, by this time, it's a2/w3 and upped armory. all but 2 or three are dead. we get a lucky onos kill by a sneaky shotty. the on onos is ont he way to clear out the sieging of
sat!! beacon that badboy, drop 3 hmgs, take down the onos.
go heavy kits, cap sat, chem, acidic, back and forth on cargo, finally take fusion, etc etc, rr, win.
anyhoo, the moral of this story is how great beacon can be when you have high lvl lifeforms, ramboing and not expecting a ton of rines to appear. and MORE importantly, how incredibly useful it is to organize pub rines who just happen to be all over the place (more due to wps too far away, and skulks intercepting and dispersing squads). just beacon them all back home! and MOVE THEM OUT!
i've found that, in my pub comming experience, rines ENJOY moving in groups, but it's upto YOU to get them moving in groups. by wps, CLOSER wps <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> micromanaging them (DudeShooterAim guy, hold back, your squad is laggin behind), and yes, the almighty beacon.
thanx flayra and co, for that new change to beacon, helps pub commanding tremendously.

And yes beacon is a great thing now.
i haven't had the oppurtunity to experience it yet.
... I sadly experienced that.
Interesting word.
Also, with the new beacon, living marines that are brought back keep their equipment.

Its also faster to type, being one letter shorter <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Kinda like having two spawn points. Of course, if you have tons of OCs it does kind of ruin that option, which is why scan is a useful little tool.
i havnt got a chance to play ns much... to much time in co maps <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
This refers to the area outside of MS on hera, where a lerk would constantly sit on top of the tunnel where marines couldn't get to it without a jp.
An alien tactic I see occasionally on pubs is to lame up MS after a relocate, then when the comm beacons the marines are set upon by OCs <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
silly n00bs making silly names.
would allow for nice strats
imagine a singel marine building an obs in the mainhive
give out shotguns and mines in base
beacon
hive down <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

When the redemption upgrade kicks in you do something called redeeming. These words (and their shortened forums) have different meanings and usages so it sounds a little weird to hear that I should be using one or the other.

It's not weird. You should be using one or the other depending on what you're trying to say. However, "redempt" is not a word and using it as a verb in place of "redeem" is idiocy.
