HL steam crap
I played the NS Steam Beta all day today and everything worked fine. Just now I try to join a Steam server and it does that hl update thingy.
And now when I to connect into a server and I get into the readyroom I cant move my mouse or anything.
This orange box pops up in the center of my screen that says,
You system has been modified. Remove any modifications to play this game.
Codes 35,57,63
WTH is this?
I dont have any illegal, cheat type, whatever mods in my NS folder, or any of my HL games.
I have lots of custom sounds and models from you guys but thats it. Those are the only "mods" I can think of that would make me get this message. It comes up in all the servers that I go into.
SO does this mean that we cant use al the cool stuff in there anymore and we have to be content with all the default stuff.
Which isnt bad but I love your guys work so much better.

I think I found the problem..
I was running CD (CHeating Death) before you needed it to play in some servers.
Guess either A.you dont need it now or B. Steam isnt supporting CD any morefor NS.
Oh well.
of all things. CD. God forbid i run an anti cheat program when I play.
So far evreything checks out. Thanks for the help guys.
Would be good to see United Admins and Valve work together on this. Get CD or SOMETHING integrated into Steam. Or let United Admins work on VAC...
Why's that?
Surely an anti-cheat program on a server is better than none at all?

Cheating death was the answer to no VAC support in NS... *cough* 2.01
ns 3.0 has VAC support... and they don't work together... go ahead, go load up CD and try and play DoD, TFC, HLDM with CD open (on won)... you'll get the same message everyone is now getting.
NS includes VAC support... which means it'll clash with CD, and give you this nifty error, only differance is, this one is a little harder to get around. (and sometimes is permenent until you install again)
try to connect to this server... if you still get the modified files error, you will need to re-install. Ive recived the message, and found that i can play on my clan servers after getting the message... if you still get errors on these two servers... you need to start over again, sorry.

At least Cheating Death blocks alot more cheats than VAC.
I've seen dozens of cheats (with proof) that completely go around CD's system of checking no matter how many updates they do.
I just wanted to use some custom models, copied them into the folder, but when I'm joining a game the normal models are still there...
Do I have to change anything in steam or am I just a n0000b1!1!! ?

I'd rather have admins then C-D.
