There are many many applications to do this, some free, most are not terribly expensive. I personally use the http://www.wise.com product line for MSI and EXE compilation, and have for many years (in fact, it's what was used to create all the NS installers pre-beta 3). You can also try out free or cheap stuff like:
I like the wise products because they have a true underlying language of their own and are much more flexible, but they also run some serious bucks. The ones I listed are usually free.
Thanks alot, yea i looked into the vise one, wow $600 for it, demo is only 3 days. I would like to use it to make a custom map installer. Do you know what I can set to make it use the persons email dir for steam?
i will check it out.......still need to figure how to make it default to the Half-life directory, I cant figure out how to get the persons email into it.
I personally prefer NSIS, a 100% free app written by nullsoft.
If you get Install Creator Pro, you can have it create an INI file or a registry key with the install path, then the next time they install something, it'll automatically find the right path. I think that regular Install Creator can read from INIs and registry keys, too.
Aha. You can find Steam's default install path by reading the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Valve\Steam" with the key being "InstallPath".

a) wont cost me anything
b) doesnt paste "OMG UNREGISTERED" all over the images in the screensaver
c) Doesnt limit it to 2 or 3 images
I've looked around but only found programs claiming to be FREE but in the end having some sort of catch.
