It's imperfect at the moment. That's why it's a beta. By simply playing it you are being a tester. When a version good enough for a final release is made, Flayra will call it NS 3.0 .
NS 2.01 is the current official non-beta version of NS. We are currently play testing NS 3.0, hence it's called a beta. Once we are done testing it, it will be released as "NS 3.0" no beta tag at the end or nothing.
(But ofcourse then well probably start the 3.1 beta test)
You can't really safely call something a full, final release that isn't beta until everyone in the world loves it.
Its been in beta since NS came out, if it hasn't been perfected yet, I don't think it ever will be.
The mods here are just as ignorant as the ops in the channel, must be the idiocy linking up and creating a hive mind. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
Beta releases are never perfect. That is the precise meaning of the term "beta". It means "not finished" or "test version". At no point is a beta a finished product. When it becomes a finished product, it leaves the "beta" label behind.
NS hasn't been in beta since it was released, but it's a constantly evolving product. Since it's not a retail product like, well, retail games, the creators have the flexibility to change whatever they want as and when they wish, this causes the end product to constantly evolve with time.
Only when NS reaches perfection will it be declared "final", as in <i>not a beta</i>, but while it is in a beta state, it should not be considered "final".
I just hoped maybe somebody else understood the problems of this game as well as I do, obviously Flayra doesn't. If I can't use some mind control to get him to fix it, then posting here is worthless.
I realize its pointless now, I'll just attract more idiots and they'll link up like voltron.
Sorry guys, your hopeless.

You dear sir, don't seem to like the game, the process it's in or the people who play it and are involved.
If it's not to your liking, leave. No-one is forcing you to post.
Don't flame bait.

Instead of saying, "You're stupid!" you could perhaps provide a reason as to why we are stupid. For instance, "gtfo, scripts are not allowed in the ns channel!" is much more reasonable than saying "gtfo".
[edit] Not to mention it makes you look a tad smarter <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo--> [/edit]

1: NS has not always been in beta. In fact, 3.0's public release in beta form broke the trend of the NS team; we've tried to be professional enough to consider each release a fully fleshed out, final product, as balanced and bug-free as we could achieve each time. NS versions 1.xx and 2.xx were made public when internal beta testing for each was considered flat-out <i>done</i>. Patches such as 1.04 were considered official, final-version patches. Patches ranging from 2.01<letter> were considered beta and were placed in the Public Beta forum -- some had their share of problems, and were fixed as soon as possible.
The version of 3.0 you are playing at this moment was released to the public because, frankly, you guys were very patient and probably expected us to have finished earlier. Thus all publically-released versions of 3.0 from 3.0 beta 1 to the current 3.0 beta 3 have been labeled with the phrase "public beta."
2: There should be self-evident reasons to avoid publically calling mods here ignorant, as well as self-evident reasons not to re-open a locked topic to say so. Same politeness expectations apply to ops in our IRC channel. If you don't like my words or actions, take it up with me in a PM.
