<div class="IPBDescription">beta 2 release</div> ok, I have a combat map which you may or may not have seen. It is currently "kind" of done. I am hoping to get some serious feedback. Especially about a scetion called soemthing like the temp section, it needs some work. But, my mind has wandered on to a ns_ map. so, I'll show this and get some feed back and then go. also becasue my yahoo briefcase is dynamic there are moreadn larger pics <a href='http://briefcase.yahoo.com/brunjes@ameritech.net' target='_blank'>here.</a> obviously under ns and new co map. there is also a map download in the same place.

Story: well, its a routine traffic seach gone wrong. so we have an infested crate
(currently a beer crate) being searched while attached to a frieght hauler.


R_speeds should never go over 700, although this is really hard to check with steam.

With out fuurter ado, Screens. Each one should be fairly self explanitory. although we shall see, first: the hive room, actually the hive is in the huge beer crate that im pointing at.

    the next screen. plz note that these have been gamma corrected fairly haphazardly. this is one of the passage ways that has a nice view of space, and some guns.

    finally the marine start. oh something i forgot to mention in teh first post. teh map has four ways through it. 2 long and 2 short . at the start of each round one hall of each type is closed off. with a nice forcefield over it as nsen in the hive and ms pics.

    That looks pretty nice. In the second pic, however, it does not look like thre is any glass in the windows. I am pretty confident that you did put glass, but it does not look lke their is any. Also, that hive room could us some infestation, none is visible from teh pic.

    Ye hes right you need infestation crawling around the crate and pouring along the floor.
    Not too much is needed on the outside. But it does need a lot inside.

    I like marine start, you do like your overhead walkways.
    Im not so sure i like the red armory,

    but overall pritty good, N1

    I think it would be interesting if the area that was closed off was at random. That would add a kind of interesting element and some variety to things. Then it could be welded open or something, which would make things a little more strategically interesting if it was one of the quick routes.

    Overall I like what you have though...... dunno about the beer keg though, it seems kinda strange. I like the shots you have though, lookin really good.

    Ligthing change it seems... And in a good way, architecture is nice (said that in also in other post). Althouh as someone already mentioned the glass seems invisible <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I like it a lot, but the lighting could be a bit more interesting, from what I've seen. That hive also needs infestation <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Azraiel: there is in fact blue colored forcefield, unfortunately environmnet lighting is also a shade of blue. yes, more infestation is needed.

    Pash: i was afraid that the armory being red wouldn't make you guys happy, so i may move it .

    Reese: the dors are infact random although sometimes they just dont fire, im woring on that. Also how do you feel about a randomized spaceship? and yeah teh beer keg, i was maing a shipping crate and got distracted, the texture will most likely change, but the one i have is a nice place holder.

    Kouji San: my ship, its GONE!!

    Cobra^: essentially the reasons its not a release canidate.

    you never cease to amaze confused. though this last pic looks kinda weird... i'm guessing it's supposed to be the back of the ship, but it uhh... i dunno. maybe it's better in game.

    The .res file calls for alot of files not included in the zip. Are they files we already have? I see some Lost map TGAs.

    Scott, yes they should all be standard in ns3.0.

    Belg: well yeah i really just have it for teh window effect not becasue it looks very nice.

    I'm thinking of making th lights pulse on and off together to increase the insanity. And, yes its this mind numbingly bright in game.

    well, imunsure what they arebut they are a crate sort of object. and are currently sitting on a cargo elevator. i think they stared as specimen tubes but i added teh lights and they looked kinda cool so i left them that way. wow it six am local:) must go to bed. i have a hard day ahead.
    any way one final picture today. its shaft structure, some of you may recognize it from teh post your screen shots thread.

    Cool, i didnt realise it was a ship.
    Im hoping you map on the premise that everyting needs a purpose. Such as sleeping quarters if any are well away from noisy rooms (NS_Mineshaft) Bluddy hell thats a stuppid map.

    But anyway....
    Hey if you dont mind could you give me a few pointers on the structuring of those rooms cause it fit in with what im gonna try and do at some point.
    Im gonna try making a space ship. A propper one with lots of windows looking out onto the hull. Heres a pic (rather large and not finished yet and sugest you dont open this unless youv got a good connection)

    Its somthing ive been planing for a while..
