but that's basically what i was aiming for with supporting this project. Sven Co-Op has official additive map packs, but that's because their community put them together, and a team memeber said.. hey, this rawk... lets make them official, but not!!
so put one or two together, and let me know... i'll host them, and pop the idear in the PT forums.
---=] For later Down the Road [=- ohh, and just FYI, can we get NS-maps and CO-maps in different packs?
naturally, CO maps are easier to learn, so those would be in the larger number in the packs... NS maps however, should be for the 56k-crowd... why waist your time downloading 10 maps that you'll play 10 minute games on when you can spend 10 minutes downloading 3 maps, that you'll spent 4 hours playing on?
I'm not sure who the first guy who posted was . . . *checks (ok. it's [njk]nopeace4u). I don't know if [njk]nopeace4u is heading up this project or not but to get it organized, I think there should be a post at the very beginning (sorta like the different remake FAQs) that state on the very first page the status of the project. Then they can post all the updates/downloads/etc there and keep discussing it at this end of the thread.
Co_collision (Or it might end up being renamed...) is nearing completion, or atleast layout wise(still needs hint brushes/null faces, etx to bring down wpolys) but it should be done within a week or 2
Well I was just going to start a seperate thread with a poll, on what maps to include in a map pack, but we still need 4 maps to be voted on...ill update my first post with the maps sofar.
You can download maps really fast now, as servers can setup a web page to have them automatically downloaded from. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> (sv_downloadurl)
I still think a map pack is a good idea as I have no idea which maps are good or where to get them.
No installshield please, just a zip. (exe's are useless to linux servers)
yar for mappacks! i only play classic now, have played the 2.01 maps to hell and beyond, and have more or less seen the 3 new 3.0 classic maps so..yar!
My clan has a server, I'll get it into rotation, blue. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Hopefully more servers will use this option, if my own server is running a custom map expect to download it in under 2 minutes.

mystic had too many polies for commander mode and too many entities, so it went offf the playtests. i did reduce and fix bugs, but it was too late. Ill be posting a beta build this week and if playtests show that the map is balanced then ill release it as a final build.
Anything going to come of this? Come on, you can't say that 'NS mapping community offical custom map pack' doesn't have a nice ring to it. (although it's a bit long) Someone want to step up and take charge of this beast?

And while hera got changed around so that MS and the double node are nearly the same room, mineshaft has yet to get a change after all this time... Odd, that.

... i'm working on geting somone to run that section, as i don't map much, and/or pay much attention to this forum.
but i'm more than open to the idea of getting more action in that area.

anyway, personally, I like Mineshaft very mucho, but it <i>would</i> be nice to have it "touched up"...
