Cannot Voice Comm In 3.0

Mic and sound card test fine
I have thoroughly tested both my USB mic and my Labtec stick mic on my computer and they both work great. I talk on Ventrilo with either and have excellent results. I can use the Windows XP sound recorder, and they work great.

When I join a server, my voice is choppy and unintelligible. If I go into console and attempt the voice tweak, it has no affect regardless of what boxes are enabled or where the slider is set.... the voice scale shows nothing.

Caps lock or shift are my bind keys. Does anyone have an idea why I can't get my mic to work in ns?

the first thing to test is run a lan server and use voice loopback (I din't remember the command, simply try cl_vo and see if it auto compleates or try voice)

If it is STILL chopy then there are serious problems, if not then it is something with your conneciton....

"voice_loopback 1" in console reveals a choppy, unintelligeble voice.
Everything checks out fine out of game.

How choppy and unintelligible? If it sounds like random noise, alt-tab out, go to control panel --> sounds and audio devices and click on the audio tab. Then click on the volume button for recording devices. This should bring up your volume control menu for your recording devices, click on the select checkbox for microphone 1.

If you are just breaking up really bad, then I'd recommend looking around on the half life forums, or checking with valve tech support. I remember getting a long FAQ a while back (though it didn't fix my problem.)

Edit: I still have the email, so I just emailed it to the address that you used for your forum account (subject: microphone response from VUInteractive.) If you don't check that, just PM me an address and I'll forward to that.

Downloaded Miles demo, started Miles Voice Chat, made certain all volumes were maxed, and same problem.

Miles Voice Chat states i need "full duplex sound drivers". How do I check this?

Ventrilo requires full duplex sound drivers, so that is not it.

At this point, if nothing else has worked, I have no idea. It is probably a sound card issue, and all I can really suggest is trying to talk to your sound card manufacturer and /or VU Interactive.

Tech Support has failed to return my call, as I want to try different drivers (that's the only thing I haven't tried). Any input on this would be apprecieated,
