Congrats man <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I still am waiting to see the fully decked out Basement wasn't that the one room you were being alowed to decorate? (if thats the right word for the atrocity that it shall become <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)
All in all it is still a nice house (and you have yard, always + in my books <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->)
My mum really likes the house, wonders what part of USA it is in, and says "Don't tell whoever it is, but I don't like his kitchen that much... I'd have the ganite benches, but the cupboards are... old-fashioned. I'd have white." <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Oh course, we have no basis to criticise, as although our house is nice and could be GREAT with some rennovations, it is falling down around us <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Incidentally, now that you [will soon] have your own house, you need need NEED to set up a remote control train track leading to the fridge, and an intercom...
"WHOO WHOOT!" *crackle* "Uh... honey? If you'd be so kind as to load the carts full of random snacks... Thank you." "Oh for crying out loud, I can SEE you. You are sitting right there in the next room, on the NS forums!"
... Well, that's what I'd do.
Also, a fridge next to your computer. And a toilet.
In fact, have your computer in the toilet, bring a fridge in, and your bed, and it is like... the ultimate computing scenario.
Nah, just kidding. Maybe. Have a nice life in your house <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Ahhh! We finally see the granite counter tops MonsE was bitching about in his NSradio christmas interview!

Bah! You'll be carting back and forth to Home Depot with a full size pick-em-up truck before long.
Or will it be a family mini-van <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Seriously, congrats man. The place looks great. Too great. The GF smacked me in the back of the head for not being a super-duper-network-stringpulling-guru and buying her a spacious mansion in the milder wintered Carolinas. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Sweet house, Monse. I particularly like the hard wood floors on the first floor. Those are a nice touch. It's times like this I regret that I'm going into a field with a high turn over rate and frequent job relocation so the odds of me ever being in one place long enough to justify buying a house are slim. Very nice, Monse.

I've watched a few episodes of english home makeovers on TLC - what's the deal with everything being floral print over there in limeyland?
As to people's questions about costs, they vary greatly by geography in the US. This same house would have cost several times as much back home in Chicago, and several times *that* much in New York. I'm in a pretty inexpensive part of the country/state, and so it works out to about $100/square foot, which is a decent deal. The 5.5% interest isn't hurting either - that's like 1/2 of what it was a decade ago...
