<div class="IPBDescription">Yeah, I know this is steam but...</div> But the official steam forum is a human wasteland of flamers and people bitching about steam (all with good reason, this is the worst piece of crap I've ever been forced to use)
My problem is simple: The instant I start Steam my 50 ping DSL (768/128) spikes to 800 and sometimes higher, and makes NS unplayable. I don't know if any other games are affected but I assume so since it does this before I start NS. The spikes continue until I exit Steam.
I know this is not the right place for this but I'm sure SOMEONE here has this problem too, and the official steam forums won't send me a validation email (i've been waiting almost 2 days now)

When this happens this can severely effect your ping and fps.
Check that first.
Also, check your pings in the other steam mods.
