Homosexuals are being treated like second-class citizens. We had second-class citizens before. They were called slaves. See how nicely that worked out?

Well, I can't say I'm too fond of the 'mechanics' of homosexuality, but I'm all for equality so this is good news.

There is a big BIG difference between slaves and how homosexuals are treated now. Anyway, good for them I don't really care either way about marriage or civil unions but if it makes them happy they should go for it.

Oh yeah like that makes sense

    *cracks whip at homosexual slaves*

    Seriously dude, worst analogy ever

I'd say they're treated like slaves after the civil war, by a what I hope to be a minority, and religion.

But good for them, it's time for things like this to happen.

Good for them but I have personal reservations/concerns (non-homophobic) about the whole idea which I will keep to myself as this is not the appropriate thread to be airing my opinions.

CA isnt the only state that allows that.

MA does too now but technically its still in debate b/c a judge who did not have authority did to make the call did. So now the debate is theoritcally its legal and technically its not.

    gj MA law makers.

Theres marriages going on in my 'hometown' (Toronto) now I believe, but I have since moved to the cowboy capital of Canada (Calgary) and they're fighting it tooth and nail out here. Its pretty sad. I've never understood why people fight this so much? I've heard some claim that marriage is this magical institution that would be trivialized by letting *** and lesbians take part in it. Shut. up. Sure marriage can be a great/beautiful thing but the institution on whole has taken a real beating during the last century. How many divorces have all the opponents of G/L marriage gone through? How're those Vegas chapels doing these days? Oh Britney Spears was married for a day? Fox aires Married by America (and a bunch others)? NBC aires Who Wants to Marry My Dad? Heterosexuals living in glass houses shouldn't be throwing stones.

Don't turn off topic into discussion. This has been discussed before there, and they boiled it down to religious vs non-religious.

Let's just be happy for Athena's friends finding each other.

    I'm happy for your friends

on a side-note, Athena, I just linked to your website, and you've got an anti-Michael Moore link... outa curiosity, are you both a conservative and believe in g4y rights? or are you a liberal and just disagree with that particular liberal? He IS obviously a sensational extremist...

My best friend is a g4y republican. I just don't get it. IMO, a g4y republican is like a black Klansman...
