make baby jesus cry
thats right. no source at all. I load the pointfile into hammer and i find that the line passes right through a solid (world) brush twice in 2 adjacent faces. There are no errors in hammer, ive tried replacing the offending brush and redoing it but nothing seems to help. I even placed a massive cube right on the offending area(the entire corridor was blocked off) and the pointfile just leads to the exact godamn place!!!! WTH is going on here? This has never happened to me. I need someones help.

Maybe there's a better way but I've never found it.
DarkATi could have encoutered it. He seems to be cursed to get the annoying and weird errors
EDIT: The Pointfile isn't as accurate as the LIN, however the LIN and Pointfile's both DO NOT LIE, if they are going straight through (not just coming in a little) then there is a leak. Sometimes they do "skip in" to the level and this confuses people but overall you just have to know what you're looking for.

[edit] about the csg leak - doubt it i triple checked that every single vertex in the area was snapped to grid, so no dodgy map export problems.

It is still possible even with the grid to get a CSG leak but doubtful. Sorry you had to re-do / change your design.

You could try cordoning it next time. This would allow you to continue working on your map and just return to fix that one area later.

Sounds like you had no choice but to rip apart that area. Very odd indeed.
Yes, circus mode will do it if it's a "normal" leak. I need to add that to my common errors index...

The pointfile will go through the walls I think if it has already found a leak
Look for an entity that does not exist and takes you to the center (0,0,0).
Delete said entity.
This may be the source of your problems.
