It´s the Best terrain making tutorial I´ve ever seen!!!!
you could allso use this one: <a href='http://snarkpit.com/editing.php?page=tutorials&game=HL&id=14' target='_blank'>http://snarkpit.com/editing.php?page=tutorials&game=HL&id=14</a> Its allot simpler but still bumpy.

Nem released a terrain generator awhile ago. Check it out, just make sure you read the tutorial for making HL Terrain or it won't compile.

Terrain Generators are the devil! Well, in a matter of speaking and opinion of course <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> On a more serious note though, you may find it much easier to use the triangle method in your editor.

A combination of the two techniques is the best. There is no need to triangle everything and it can add a fair bit the wpoly. Some big clipped blocks an help you out there.

    ex3mly? meh d0n't g3t whachoo s4yin' wha j00 m34nz0rz?

Yes it can. Use it in moderation and use it in conjunction with Nem's HL Tutorial and you should be fine though.

It´s not so hard. here´s the tutorial you asked for: <a href='http://countermap.counter-strike.net/Tutorials/tutorial.php?id=11' target='_blank'>http://countermap.counter-strike.net/Tutor...orial.php?id=11</a>
It´s basicly made for CS but it works the same way in NS. GL HF

a terrain generator <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo--> And it makes terrain <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo--> hmmm I dont like it. Saw some shots of the terrain generator and what it generated. Seems to me more work figuring it out in the editor then by building it yourself...

if your mapping at all (wisch is rather difficult) then the terrain generator will be kid´s play. At least try it It´s easy.

Nah I don't like it also I don't have any problems with vetexediting/mapping so I don't really need it...

But what I was going on about is that mapping it yourself gives one more control over r_speeds, max_patches, leafportals etc... I'll stick with what I'm good at <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
It is probably an excelent program, I'm not saying anything against it...
