[Edit: I'm not saying I don't agree with you, just when you are doing "PR" it usually involves only saying positive things, even to an over exaggerated sense. Saying the forums are childish, and the site is rarely updated might have the opposite desired effect on people]

SERIOULSY, ALOT of people already know about NS. I bet 100% its goign to be mod of the week on PHL, thatll attract alot of people. People who enjoy the game will even attract more people. I mean, look at CS Beta 1. I bet they didnt do a PR blitz, yet theyre the most poplular mod around.
-edit- CS was released retail a while after that wich made it popular not phl.
I was talking in a tfc clan channel and mentioned NS, and everyone started to talk about it like they where board regulars!
we even had a debate if the marine team would have a disadvantage on the public servers, but agreed that the clan play would own.
CS got popular cause of friends telling friends, forums, etc. CS was very popular even before the retail. The retail just attracted even more people.
B o B The Alien is right you know. The PR Blitz is barely gona do anything, a few released screenies and just uploading it everywhere is enough, and shouldnt take another ####### week.

However, if NS gets great its good to be part of something this big. There is no need to make so much effort in getting NS a big fanbase now. When it´s released, people will see how good it is and they will try it. Then, they will play it and tell to others. And on... and on... and on...
MonsE is doing the best PR job in the world, there is no need for these things.

Just to set the record straight on this supposed lack of PR I've heard about in this thread:
NS' official news site readyroom.org has had 161 separate updates in the past year. That works out to about 1 update every 2 days. Additionally, we have made 62 posts of exclusives and news to Planethalflife.com. There are also dozens of exclusives posted in our forums every few weeks. Add in the exclusives we've given to other sites like gamecenter.com, elited.net, hlcenter.com, valvepit.com, halflife.org, natural-seletion.de, moddb.com, Half-life.de, halflifeitalia.com, halflife.nu, etc. etc. etc, and it all works out that there is almost 1 PR post PER DAY. This is, to my knowledge, considerably more than any HL mod or game I have ever seen. Anyone want to rebut with their numbers or show another mod that posts as much PR?

I personally think that the behind the scenes PR work is probably great. And I did not in any way, shape, or form defame RR.org. I think it is okay to say that the screenshots at ns.org are old. I really wouldn't want someone to visit NS.org and assume those screenies are what this mod is all about because they are meer shadows of what NS has become. Perhaps next time I will be more gentle with my "this info is old" statement. I also did not defame your PR work. The only reason I posted is beacause of that guy who said "NS has the worst PR work ever" because I strongly disagree with him. Notice I <b>did</b> invite them into the forums to check stuff out and I <b>did</b> invite him on to IRC. The childishness in the forums has seemed to have died down so I have no other complaints abou that (I believe the major offender is gone).

It says here that you're the only NS fan doing anything to help NS - I'm sure lots of people here would take issue with that, especially considering that many people here have been fans of NS for about a year longer than you. You also say that the website<b>s</b> lack updates - also incorrect.
Next time you feel like "helping" with PR, try to post something besides the 'websites hardly ever update' and 'the forums are full of kiddies'. You probably just cost us a few hundred fans right there by not phrasing things better.

Congrats on the succesful years worth of PR for the readyroom MonsE. NS's PR is some of the best i have ever seen honestly, and i think you deserve a ton of credit for that. Nice work, and happy birthday rr!
I posted a 2 page NS post on the PC Gamer UK forums, and got involved in the blueyonder forums, alongside telling random people on the street. Open your eyes and engage your brain please.
