I am giving you a 100% honest opinion and criticism. I'm not going to sugarcoat my comments so you feel better, if you feel i'm being harsh, get your own back, be as harsh as you like to my work, i don't care. I have worked professionally as a designer for some time and am currently doing an honours degree in the subject, guess what, i get told my work's crap every damn day, i get told that my techniques are unorthadox and i get told that something looks wrong. Guess what i do, i ask "Why do you think that?" and they tell me why. The next step is realising why, taking a step back and looking at your work objectively and finally you do something to correct your errors.
At no point is there room to moan about being treated unfairly. To be perfectly honest, if you can't stand criticism, don't show your work to anyone. The internet is a big wide place where people of all walks of life, race and background can view or say whatever they like, and there's nothing you can do to stop that. I know this is a moderated forum, and the moderators can do as they please, but i do not feel i am being unfair, and if i am, i welcome you to report this thread to the moderators, i am being honest, and i believe i have said nothing offensive nor anything that infringes the forums rules.
You need to find a way to divide criticism of your work and personal insults. I have said your <b>work</b> has poor colour schemes and your <b>work</b> has poor use of fonts. These are not personal insults, and if you're taking them personally, you shouldn't.
You're being too sensitive about all of this. Take a step back, read what i said, and then take a look at your work <b>objectively</b>. That means not looking at it thinking "Wow, i'm really proud with this piece.", no, take a look and think "What is wrong with this?" or "Do the colours work?", if you cannot do these things, i fear you won't improve.

Frankly, Ken, we'd all be lucky to get critiques of our work as complete, honest, and well-thought-out as esuna's of your work. Take it as an opinion... you may not agree with it all, you may choose to discard some of his advice. But at least look at what he has to say, and don't dismiss him as some half-wit script kiddie (since he clearly isn't).
I've taken my share of criticism, and haven't taken all of it well. But generally speaking, I've found that the harsher the criticism (while still being intelligent), the more my work improves as a result. We're all always learning.
I agree with esuna, and you need to learn to take advice, rather its good in your opinion or not, If i was defensive about every thing people told me was wrong about my work, i would still be using mspaint, your sigs are very random, you just took a random wallpaper from deviant art, slapped it on a background and put text on it, no theme or anything, thats a harsh but true statement, you could be mad at me becuase I didn't try to help you fix your problems, but esuna wrote many very long posts showing you where you were wrong and needed work in, and I don't think he deserves to be seen as the bad guy.

Take this as proof that i'm not being unnecessarily harsh to just you.
As to getting banned, no, that's not what i want. I requested that Coil take a look through this thread myself, purely because i wanted to know if i had overstepped any marks, and the answer was no, so take this as proof that i am not being too harsh.
You know, it's really sad to see someone with potential completely isolate themselves from developing their skills. I am trying to help, nothing more. I am not trying to get you to stop your work, i'm not trying to get you banned, i'm trying to help you improve your skills which are, at current, lacking in several areas.
Ignore this post if you wish, but by ignoring criticism, you block yourself from ever getting better.
As a closing statement, you need to do some growing up i feel, criticism is not slander and it is definately not a personal attack. It's constructive, it helps you grow.

I strongly suggest you go back and read your first reply to my criticism. That <b>entire post</b> was hostile and unfriendly, go ahead and read it. Please don't preach to me about being treated unfairly if you, yourself, are responsible for it. Don't act like a hypocrite.
Let me run down and explain all the insults you have been called by me.
"crap attitude" You do have a crap attitude. Read over your replies, you've been hostile, unfriendly and cagey, all becuase i was trying to be helpful, this displays that you do, infact, have a really crap attitude.
"jerK" I think you'll find that i said you're "acting like a jerk" not "you are a jerk". There's a difference, since the latter is insulting you, whereas the former is not.
"immature" Look at your attitude and what you've been saying recently, you <b>are</b> immature. You flip out, display unnecessary amounts of hostility, get upset, all because of the fact you can't accept criticism, this does nothing but prove you need to grow up a lot and mature a lot, since that kind of attitude is, well, not mature. Let's add ontop of this the fact that rather than acting maturely and realising nothing is perfect, and opening your mind to others' opinions, no, you dig your head into the sand and ignore my posts and hide from it, not a very mature course of action.

I am giving you a 100% honest opinion and criticism. I'm not going to sugarcoat my comments so you feel better, if you feel i'm being harsh, get your own back, be as harsh as you like to my work, i don't care. I have worked professionally as a designer for some time and am currently doing an honours degree in the subject, guess what, i get told my work's crap every damn day, i get told that my techniques are unorthadox and i get told that something looks wrong. Guess what i do, i ask "Why do you think that?" and they tell me why. The next step is realising why, taking a step back and looking at your work objectively and finally you do something to correct your errors.
At no point is there room to moan about being treated unfairly. To be perfectly honest, if you can't stand criticism, don't show your work to anyone. The internet is a big wide place where people of all walks of life, race and background can view or say whatever they like, and there's nothing you can do to stop that. I know this is a moderated forum, and the moderators can do as they please, but i do not feel i am being unfair, and if i am, i welcome you to report this thread to the moderators, i am being honest, and i believe i have said nothing offensive nor anything that infringes the forums rules.
You need to find a way to divide criticism of your work and personal insults. I have said your <b>work</b> has poor colour schemes and your <b>work</b> has poor use of fonts. These are not personal insults, and if you're taking them personally, you shouldn't.
You're being too sensitive about all of this. Take a step back, read what i said, and then take a look at your work <b>objectively</b>. That means not looking at it thinking "Wow, i'm really proud with this piece.", no, take a look and think "What is wrong with this?" or "Do the colours work?", if you cannot do these things, i fear you won't improve.

I've taken my share of criticism, and haven't taken all of it well. But generally speaking, I've found that the harsher the criticism (while still being intelligent), the more my work improves as a result. We're all always learning.

I strongly suggest you go back and read your first reply to my criticism. That <b>entire post</b> was hostile and unfriendly, go ahead and read it. Please don't preach to me about being treated unfairly if you, yourself, are responsible for it. Don't act like a hypocrite.

Also, what case are you resting? I haven't seen any good arguments from you.
