Steam And Custom Models

Do the custom models on this forum work with NS 3.0 and Steam? I want to use the M41A Aliens Rifle I found, and the USCM Steel's. But I read on another forum that people get banned from Steam for having modded files, can someone confirm yes or no if those two models will work in NS 3.0 and work with Steam?

i use mostly all custom models and steam, and everything works for me.

modded "files" only get you KICKED if you have scripts or if the server has model consistancy turned on
