Parasite

<div class="IPBDescription">Doesn't hit as often.</div> It's a funnything I've noticed in 3.0. I think parasite has gotten a little harder to use. Before it would hit just about effortlessly, now you gotta be right on target. Did they change hitboxes or something? It's definately harder to para ppl now; but I never heard about a change like that. Anyone?

    Perhaps you end up hitting between their legs, or just above their arm, or something like that. The hitboxes were made to accurately represent what you see. If that's not it, then I don't have any idea what the problem could be.

    it probably DOES hit them, you just can't hear the "parasite hit marine" sound.

    But Mav, if that were the case, the yellow blip would pop up (provided he was far enough away for the blip to show on Hive site, and provided he's actually as smart as I'm hoping he is).

    Distance isn't a factor with the parasite, it's whether you have a line of sight with the marine. If you parasite him then hide around the corner you can double check if he actually did get parasited.

    Does parasite have infinite range now? I think something used to be limited, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't spike. That could explain some on-target misses if it was the case.

    I still keep forgetting about just how accurate the hitboxes are. Yesterday on Nancy, I was hiding in a vent with a grenade launcher. A Fade started to crawl in from one side, so I quickly lined up and spammed away. All four grenades bounced straight inbetween his legs. D: In a way, it was quite cool.

    Im im not mistaken parasite still has a maximum range as its not a hitscan weapon.

    I believe parasite activating switches is confirmed to go back in, though I could easily be making that up.

    I'm not saying that its tough to use now, I'm just curious as it's gotten a little harder.

    Parasite did, and I believe it still does, have a maximum range on it. So it's a hitscan weapon that can only work for a certain distance to clarify it for anyone who was confused.

    Hitscan, parasite? I always thought there was an ICKLE projectile....

    I'm not sure about this maximum range thing on parasite. But I'm damn sure you can hit targets which are much further than before.

    Paralyse and spikes where hitscan but the had a silly model animation that made you think they weren't. Took me months to find out they were both hitscan <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->. If marines would have just bled a little it would have been obvious.
