<div class="IPBDescription">Vanu Forever... model ideas enclosed</div> Most of you know what PlanetSide is, its a cool MMOFPS that you have to pay to play on a per-month basis, but anyway, the concepts.

Oh yea, the TR empire would work but the VS empire would look the coolest.

Grenade: Just a gernade, nothing special... cant find a pic

The Vanu are the cool alien/technology worshipping empire in Planetside. all of the empire sepcific Vanu weapons fire bolts of plasma and energy, really cools effects you would probably have to see to understand. the Lasher, for example fires glowing disco-ball type projectiles that lash out at targets and do damage. and the Pulsar fires spermlike bolts of glowing plasma. the non-VS weapons; the thumper, sweeper and grenade are all just ordinary, slightyl advanced versions of curernt technology. Thumper works almoast exactly like the NS GL and the sweeper is just another shotgun.

Im learning how to model myself but im nowhere near good enough to make stuff like this yet. If any of you elite modelers want to tackle this project i think it would work very well, and be well recieved as we currntly have nothing like this. you can do it on the novelty alone, or how cool these guys look.

I'll be glad to explain how any part of any of these things work if anyone has questions.

We once had someone who tried to convert a mine but the mods closed the thread

    Besides, we all know the NC are sooo much better. I mean, cmon... the beamer is so crappy it could barely tickle a skulk.

    and im not talking about converting from existing models, im talking about building completly from sctarch in a modeling program... if that has any relevancy...

It's a no-no. If someone does them, they can't be released due to legal reasons. The concepts themselves are under copyright...and SOE isn't some small-time modeler...if they see infringement, they <i>will</i> take action. You can make them yourself, but you won't be getting anyone here to make them for you, sorry.

    By the way, here's a more sensible layout (most similar to what the rines have currently):
    HMG: Mini Chain Gun
    Shotgun: JackHammer (or Sweeper...but the sweeper doesn't really match the damage the NS shotty doles out.)
    Pistol: Repeater
    Light Machine Gun: Gauss Rifle
    Knife: Mag Cutter (It's almost a normal knife, the other two are wierd)
    Mines: Mines (duh) And make the view model an ACE
    Grenade: Fragmentation Grenade (another duh)
    GL: Thumper
    Welder: NanoDispenser or BANK (or some unholy fusion of the two <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)

    IMHO the NC combat armor and weapons look the coolest but the VS weapons are the most effective (not sure really, I'm a n00b and I always seem to get killed by the Lasher). For some God damn reason, all my games run worse than they should with my hardware (must be anti-performance dust) and my framerate in PlanetSide sucks; it goes about 60 fps in open areas then as soon as I see a battle it drops to 25 and if the battle is in an installation it freezes momentarily then continues at 5-10 fps. It completely nullified my Air Cav cert. Good thing I only got the 7-day trial.

    VS look cool? They're _purple_. Everyone knows the only ones who can pull purple off are the Covenant.

    this includes their MAX suits Twin Vulcan Cannons=sexy

    I don like Reinforced Exosuits their meh but their regular Armor (goggles) and Max suits are the pwnt.

    and the Cycler rox

    I'd like to point out I havent played in ages because much like Tommy once they merged Servers my framerate in that game was non existent.
