it looks kinda cell shaded like there is a black line at the end of the skin can you fix that? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->
The black lines are intentional, it gives it more depth and definition. The StarCraft weapons always looked 'cartoony' anyways if you ask me. When I'm done I can make you a version without the lines, I'll give it to you on AIM.
Why is the grip red? I think you should change the color to matte black so its different from the rest of the gun but doesn't stand out as much.
Anyways, great work but I'm not using a StarCraft conversion until someone makes a Ghost model for the light Marines - the ones they have now are more armored than the HAs/
Made it more shiny, and sharper. Keep in mind it will never look as sharp as I am making the skin because of texture stretching, but I'm trying my best. The gray on the grip is a temporary placeholder.
(EDIT: Replaced picture with one with the previous origins.)
It's not completely skinned, when you take into account the parts you can't see on the model, it's only about 50% skinned. Also, the p_ model isnt meshed right, we need a w_ model, heavy hands view of course at some point, and the reload animation is a little rigid and clips into the hand a little. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

To be blunt (because I like this model and want to see it done nicely), it looks like it's made out of foam-rubber right now. The texture needs to be smoother and more reflective if it's going to look like metal. Also, try to find ways to put some variety into the skin; it's basically all one color right now, which isn't really interesting.

maybe toss in more scratches? perhaps some neat things painted on it? you know how the sc marines look. they have stuff painted all over their suits and whatnot. perhaps put some litting things on that? maybe little X-ed out zerglings?

Fewer black pits, stronger highlights. Seriously, metal is *reflective*. It feels strange to do it (I know, I'm an artist), but try making the only highlight a narrow brand of fairly light gray, rather than a gradual brightening. That's how light reflects off metal.

Shadows are fine -- shadows work the same way on metal as they do on anything else. It's the *highlight* that is treated differently... the only highlighted part you'll see is the part that reflects directly back at your eyes, so you'll only see a narrow band.
Here's an example. The color quality's crap, but you should get the idea:
